Mike Christian

OWNER, FOUNDER, & MASTER ELECTRICIAN

I am the oldest sibling of five of Jimmy and Pat Christian. I was born and raised in Gadsden, AL. I married my high school sweetheart (Karen Morgan) in 1974, and we have three beautiful children and five grandchildren. I attended the University of Alabama on a football scholarship from 1972-1974. I worked at the Republic Steel Plant for a few years and had a second job as an electrician apprentice. I passed the local master electrical contracting test in 1985 and thus began my lifelong dream of owning my own business. Around 1990, Alabama started offering a “state” electrical contracting license, so I took and passed the test (AL License #00399). Throughout my career, my business mainly consisted of commercial “construction/contracting.” However, now it’s nearly exclusively dedicated to providing a very high level of reliable, consistent “service.” You might remember Bama Rib Shack, located at the foot of Noccalula Mountain. I had always had an itch to open a BBQ restaurant…so I did so in 1999. However, I quickly realized I couldn’t successfully do that and run my contracting business, so I sold the BRS. My primary hobby is gardening.

I started restoring a home that was built in 1930. I contacted DJ with Christian Electric for the extensive electrical portion of the work. This was not a typical renovation, and DJ saw my vision for the project immediately. Him and his installers were so patient with my pickiness and micromanaging ways. They did an amazing job!! – Sherry W.
For a month I called looking for an electrician to fix the wiring in a mobile home. As soon as they heard mobile home, no takers. Finally found Christian Electric and got a return call right away. They showed up and checked everything and gave me options, knowing there was a tight budget. They were kind and professional, and found a way for all the needed repairs to be accomplished.
